9th Hole

The 9th Hole at Arbroath, at 373 yards it won’t always play the longest but into a stiff breeze it can be a real test, particularly with the burn meandering its way across the fairway just short of the green. Off the tee it’s time to open up the shoulders and try to get one down there as far as possible. Even if you are a little right it isn’t the end of the world, which is a pleasant change at Arbroath! The second shot requires a lot more thought, particularly if the burn is on your carry distance. If this is the case then play short and go for a pitch and putt par, better this than go for it not make the carry then bring a 6 or 7 into the equation! The greens is another of my favourites with 2 tiers, and being on the correct tier is key to making that birdie or par putt!
