At 412 yards from the medal tee, with out of bounds to the right, a burn crossing the fairway at around 285 yards from the medal tee and then a raised green a 5 here is by no means a disaster. As always the tee shot is important, for the longer hitter the vital thing is to use a club that will finish short of the burn. The second shot is without doubt, in my opinion, the hardest shot you will face at Arbroath, not only is the green raised but you have 2 giant bunkers ready to swallow up your ball if you are a little offline! If you aren’t confident that you can find the surface with your second shot then play short leaving a pitch shot of your choice for your 3rd. I would generally say whatever club you first think you need to hit into this green then go one more as it is very unlikely you will over the club on this hole. Once on the green, you still have some undulation to deal with. A par 4 here and you will be delighted, a 5 not the end of the world
