11th Hole

Hole 11 is definitely a hole that you would consider a birdie chance! That being said there are 2 fairway bunkers either side of the fairway which can catch a stray drive and then the green is well guarded by 2 bunkers either side suddenly this isn’t sounding like such a birdie chance! The positives, however, are the distance of this hole. At 326 from the medal tee, it is the shortest hole on the course, a drive finding the fairway will leave a short iron or possibly just a pitch onto the green. For me, the key is all about judging the distance for the second shot. The vast majority of the holes at Arbroath are quite undulating and for me, that actually makes it easier to judge distance. The 11th, however, is more or less completely flat and sometimes it is hard to trust the distance. So make sure you get your second shot all the way to the hole and give yourself that birdie opportunity!
