Hole 1

1st Hole

For me the first is a tricky opening hole, the tee shot is fairly straightforward despite there being trees and out of bounds down the right there is a lot of room left! The second shot is played into a well-protected green with 2 well placed bunkers front left and right so the key for the second shot is to try and take those out of play.
Once on the greens there is enough undulation in the green to keep your attention! For many golfers the first here at Arbroath would be a 3 shot hole then hopefully a single putt or 2 putt. So a 4 would be an ideal start and a 5 certainly wouldn’t be the end of the world!
